Review System
Alright, in case you wanted to know:
I review games based on what I would like to call “The Five Factors”. These factors can make a game either awesome or incredibly lame. These five factors are:
Story: The title explains itself..how the story plays a part of the story, or how it doesn’t. Voice acting, story telling, and depth play a great deal into how this is graded.
Graphics: How the game looks visually. If a game appeals to the eye in great detail and realisim (Such as Crysis) or artistically appealing (like Okami), it’ll get the points needed here.
Replay Value: Basically, if a game has a lot of stuff to do, it’ll get the points in this factor. If there’s just the story mode and nothing else, then the points will be lacking.
Gameplay: Hack and slash? Or something that we haven’t seen before? A game has to have gameplay that’s new and fresh, and something that can be used in other games. Otherwise, it won’t get the points.
Sound: A important part of playing the game is what you hear throughout it. If it pleases your ear buds, then it’ll get the marks here. If you rather wish that your ears would be Van Gogh’d, then it ain’t.
Each factor gets a grade ranging from 0 (horrible) to 10 (excellent). That score is then doubled and added together to score a grade, ranging from A to F. It basically works like the grading system at your local high school:
100: S (as in Special..because only games that are perfect in every factor will be incredibly rare)
99- 90: A
89-80: B
79-70: C
69-60: D
59 and under: F
And that’s it! If there are any questions, feel free to contact me. I’ll be more than happy to explain it more, though I think with this page it’s pretty self-explanatory.
